This project brings together Tantra-based Yantra and mark-making, and P.D. Ouspensky’s Lectures on Psychology and Cosmology. The first has been a fascinating insight into the art of encrypting information and experience through meditative mark-making gestures. Beyond its theological inspirations in structuring ideas of the mind, body, and spirit, I am deeply interested in the role shapes and marks can play in symbolizing ephemeral, irrational concepts, such as the self going through change and transformation. I have found strange parallels with these anonymous, hermetic artists from central west India, and align them through the frameworks I have been developing alongside the guidance of Ouspensky’s diagrams.
